So Much for Girl Power

This is an honest, authentic blog. So here comes some honesty.

Last week I wrote a post about some ladies who took out an ad in Craigslist to get dinner dates to one of the most popular restaurants in town. I saw the story on Eater and reached out to the ladies, they were kind enough to email back. They agreed to give me an update on the date and I was so looking forward to this. After a few emails back and forth I was told they would email later this week with pictures. Well it turns out they did give their story...but to Eater.

I know, I know Eater is big and flashy and has tons of advertisements and whatever but I feel hurt. I feel stupid that I actually thought they would give me the story. I was looking forward to writing about something that I thought the readers of this blog would enjoy. This blog is written by a woman, for women and now since those two women made the wrong choice, they've got the Eater Creatures devouring them.

I'm finding it hard to write this without letting the F-bomb drop between every word. So I'll just stop. I'm pissed.

You know what? Forget them. And, frankly, that blog seems to attract a lot of obnoxious readers who have left a slew of inarticulate and rude comments. THIS blog is significantly more thoughtful and we can be smugly secure in our superiority, I think!

dude, whatever. Girls like that thrive off of publicity, and attention. Clearly this blog is for right minded women who have real things going on to talk about rather than win-a-date-with-a-desperate-single-blonde.

as far as im concerned, its pathetic of them to even do what they did. How on earth do you live in a city with 500000000 men, and have to find one with a bribe on CL?

please.

After speaking with the ladies it seems as though they didn'treally know what they were getting into. I'm upset over the whole thing but mostly upset that Eater has become such a pool of hate. It's vicious over there.

I really can't understand why they would want to give the story to eater!? From the start the bloggers were being mean at best. They would have been treated better here. I'm sure they see their mistake now...should have gone with you.
You rock!

Wow. That sucks. Their story is interesting/amusing and I'm sure there was enough to go around. I wonder if Eater wanted an "exclusive?"

Ignore the hate. Keep the love. Vent when necessary. Repeat.
