The chef and I will be celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary in two months and we are trying to decide on a location to celebrate. Last year we went to Jean Georges and it was fabulous! But you know me, I could eat there to celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, May Day, Secretaries Day...Anyways, this year Erik made the suggestion of skipping the gift giving tradition and going to Per Se. As much as I'd love to go there, I think $275 per person is a little much for my budget, even without spending money on gifts! I can't seem to think of another place that is nice and romantic and not going to give me buyer's remorse as I'm signing the check. Erik suggested the new menu at Momofuko Ko for lunch since it's about 14 course and more money than their dinner menu. (?) No offense to Mr. Chang, but there is nothing less romantic than a noodle bar. At lunchtime.
Any ideas?

Oh dear...that is too bad.. I don't think you would have "buyers remorse" after eating at PerSe. It's dining heaven without having to die and a once in a lifetime experience you would never forget.
Congratulations!!!

Eating at Per Se is on my "to do" list before I die. no joke.
I know Per Se is amazing, I know I should go as a chef's wife and lover of all things edible. BUT I still can't imagine paying that much money for food. I'll pay a lot for food, but COME ON, 275!?!
I recently suggested dell'amina to a friend for her anniversary. Too casual? I kinda like it there. It's tough to please the chefs nowadays. What about Daniel, Le Bernardin, WD-50?
Inside Park @ St. Barts ... Weingarten does some cool things with farm fresh ingredients.
Not to mention (as a shameless plug) a big (read huge) secret that the management company is a large international corporation that I happen to work for.
Even if you don't go for your anniversary, try it for lunch or dinner on an ordinary day.

oooh, good places guys. We've been to Daniel, years ago, but I would love to go back. That place is romantic. And now that I think about it, so is Adour. But since NY is FILLED w/ good restos Erik and I always go somewhere new. We've been to WD50...I'm thinking Le Bernardin??
My cook and I recently dined at Alinea in Chicago which cost us a pretty penny. Our trick? We saved up for it, paid cash, and never saw that amount again!
That's how I will be fine dining here on out, if possible. It requires a little planning, but there was absolutely NO buyers remorse after that meal.
Le Bernardin or Ardour!
