Jean Georges

This Thursday, October 25, my chef and I will celebrate 2 years of marriage and 10 years of dating. Big deal right? So yesterday my husband took me to eat at my most favorite restaurant: Jean Georges.

From start to finish the meal was exceptional. I'm not a foodie or a reviewer so I'm not going to gush over the exquisite food but I will say this: Jean-Georges and his team are some of the most highly skilled people in the industry with dedication and drive beyond all else. This passion shows up in every bite of the dishes.

I would love to thank those responsible for the meal personally again here on the blog, but I'm not sure if they would like to be named. (Of course if they do want to to be named I would LOVE to-they can email me.) So I'll thank their generic titles.
My most gracious thanks to our server, sommelier, Johnny Iuzzini (I'll name him because I don't think he'll mind) and the best chefs around.

Bravo!

Ohhh! I am sooo swooning with jealousy. I was last there in September for lunch. You don't have to be a foodie to understand that place. It is just heavenly. I call Jean Georges (the restaurant) my sanctuary that I escape to every now and again to get away from the craziness. At least now you can understand why I am such a JGV foodie .

You must go to Le Bernardin for your next occasion. If you and yours love seafood...this is it. It's a tad more formal but still the service is still friendly.

Please, tell me what you two had and what your favorite dishes were.

Yeah, Johhny I is the bomb. He make wonderful eye candy as well :)

Oh I forgot. My captain for dinner last year (november?) was Christina. She was a little tiny thing. Medium brown hair about 5 feet tall. She was the best captain in the years I have been dining out. I hope she is still there next year. I will be asking for her again. (She doesn't work lunch-per the captain I had last time).

Hey Passion-So yes Christina was my captain as well-she was great. I would love to tell you what I ate, but I totally forget after I'm swimming in ecstasy from such a good meal. We didn't see a menu either-they just sent things. My favorite new dish was the urchin-so tasty and it popped in my mouth. My all time fav is the egg caviar for obvious reasons. And I don't even like eggs!

I'm horrible at remembering meals-especially tasting menus. It all seems to come together as one formal dining experience. When I ate at wd~50 they broought me a menu to look at while the courses came. When I've got my own place to worry about I'll be doing the same. I like having the menu at the table the whole time.
