Chef Mumbles

We've been having a lot of trouble around here getting Erik to keep the CPAP breathing machine on at night. He takes it off without knowing it and seems delusional when I tell him to put it back on. Well this time his delusions turned into an audible chef mumble. Have a read:

Me: Put the mask back on.

Erik: Why? What is going on?

Me: Just put the mask back on so we can go back to sleep.

Erik: Sleep? We're sleeping?

Me: Yeaaaah....

Erik: So we're not making amuse bouche?

Hilary: [rolled over and gave up]

That mask sounds fun! Not! I dated a guy for years (b4 husband) and he had apnea...drove both of us crazy and was scary as hell! He went to doc who first reccomended he lost 10-20 pounds (some connection between over weight especially in face, neck, upper body and apnea) and second had his tonsils and uvula removed...after he lost the weight and recovered from operation he NEVER had apnea again!
Did you guys hear any of this advice or try?
Hope it gets better!

I don't mind the sleep apnea machine, it's pretty much silent. It's the fact that I have to remind him 5 times a night to put the mask back on. The doctors didn't recommend surgery yet since the insurance company advices people to try the machine first (cheaper for them). Plus the surgery is painful for adults and Erik can't even take the time off to do it. As far as losing weight, I don't go there anymore.

I had sleep apnea, I got my tonsils removed and haven't had it since. Sooo nice. My best friend has the machine but my chef, boyfriend, I have been trying to get him to go get checked! What the hey, maybe I will become accustomed to him snoring and waking up....someday

My boyfriend had a chef mumble the other night! He woke up in the middle of the night and said, "Isn't that tableside mozzarella great." Ha ha. He snores, too, but I don't think he has apnea. Probably should just quit smoking.
